Paediatric

We see a variety of children at Be Well from infants to teens. Sarena uses her knowledge from paediatric focused seminars such as Inspiral Paediatrics and Retained Neonatal Reflexes to bring kids bodies back into balance. Things that create this imbalance in their otherwise perfect bodies are birth trauma, tumbles, falls, sports injuries or poor posture from too much screen time.

Babies often come in with colic, trouble settling, feeding or have sleeping issues. Gentle care helps to reduce the stress and strain to their body (generally from birth, forceps or uterine constraint during pregnancy) and they experience less discomfort (such as excessive wind), feed better and sleep better. At least this is what their parents tell us!

We also see children who have missed some developmental milestones and help get them back on track.  We use very gentle techniques that are especially designed for children’s delicate bodies. We do not hear any clicks at Be Well. We use tonal treatments such as cranio-sacral adjustments with children. Sarena is certified in the Inspiral Peadiatic Protocol which she uses with her three children as well as her patients.

Retained Neonatal Reflexes™ is a revolutionary approach to treating children with learning difficulties and behavioural problems

What is a Retained Neonatal Reflex?

In the womb and in early life, when the decision making process has not fully developed, your brainstem has several reflexes called ‘primitive’ or ‘neonatal’ reflexes. They help you to grow properly and safely. For example, they help you in the birthing process, breast feeding and gripping onto things. As you mature these reflexes are no longer needed so they take a ‘back seat’ and the higher brain takes control. This is an essential and normal stage of your development, allowing you to perform the more complex tasks required in classroom learning, movement control and social interactions. However, due to birth trauma or developmental restrictions these reflexes might remain dominant. This means that your nervous system will automatically react inappropriately and undesirably in certain situations. This will adversely affect your development, learning and behaviour. This is a Retained Neonatal Reflex. Dr. Sarena completed her RNR training in Sydney 2019.
